Summer Camps

Belin-Blank summer programs take place on the U of I campus and provide classes in subjects from engineering & math to creative writing & mythology. There’s even a summer research program for high-schoolers. Serves 3rd-11th graders and is by application only.

Wildlife Camps are outdoor day-camps based at the Macbride Nature Recreation Area. Sessions for Pre-K through 12th graders provide kids with accessible opportunities to have unique educational experiences and create meaningful connections with nature.

Have a musician in the house? The UI School of Music invites students who have completed sixth grade and above to campus for more specialized musical training in their instrument and study with music faculty and nationally-recognized guest artists.

UI Athletic Dept offers loads of weeklong & weekend camps throughout the year. Whether your child wants to try a new sport or learn skill in a favorite sport, there are plenty of options! Soccer, Golf, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Wrestling are open already, with more listings soon!

Country Camp is a summer program for children ages 5-13 (K-8th). Located on 14.5 acres just outside of Iowa City, the camp offers a wide range of outdoor activities and imaginative play!

Many Before and After School programs have summer day camps as well! Check with your school to see if they have space available. Some schools will open their summerlong day camps to all students when spots are available. With trips into the community, pool days, and many fun activities, kids keep playing and learning throughout the summer!

Hustling Hawkeyes Youth Camps are designed for children aged 7 - 12, wanting to discover new talents, be active, and have fun while playing a variety of sports and recreational activities! All experience levels are welcome. Camp groups will be co-ed, a combination of all skill levels, and will only be split based on age.

Heading into your senior year in high school? Come live on a college campus for a week next summer and get a sense of what you can do with a business degree. Meet Tippie students, professors, and business professionals. And most importantly, get a head-start on the transition to college.

Iowa Gym Nest camps aren’t listed quite yet - usually posted in March, they provide camps for all levels of gymnast from beginner to experienced athlete. With fun themes from Super Heroes to Fairy Tales to Pokemon, your kids will be having great adventures all week long.

They are a Recreational Softball league for girls from kindergarten to high school. We are dedicated to a fun friendly environment for girls to learn the game of softball. Iowa City Girls Softball is entirely run by volunteers, and we welcome and need parent participation.

Iowa City boys baseball serves Iowa City youth with an opportunity to learn baseball, teamwork and meet new friends. The league began in 1956 and started with 16 teams and only 2 bags of equipment. In 1960. Spring/summer registration opens Feb.1, 2024 at 8 a.m.

Practices begin in April and the season runs through June.

Campers will have an action packed week learning the skills of competitive fencing while making new friends. It's fun, fast, and exciting! 2024 Camps are not yet listed.

Several of the Liberty High Sports programs offer camps for K-8th graders. Dance, Basketball, Cheer, XC, Track & Field, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Soccer, & Football are on the docket for 2024.

City High will offer several camps for K-8th graders. Camps are not yet listed.

West High offers a variety of camps! Most are not yet listed, but Softball has several clinics set up for the year.
